Is Green the new Grey?
We take a look at the growing popularity of green colour schemes. The trend for bold, strong colours in the kitchen continues to grow, and a popular choice is green.
“In every wood in every spring there is a different green” – J.R.R.Tolkien
Rather than keeping the kitchen itself neutral, and adding colour through accents and accessories, we are seeing more people go brave and bold in their colour choice, and we, as designers, love it!
Kitchens are the busy, bustling heart of the home, full of activity, cooking smells, dancing and making memories, so they can take some strong colour.
When it comes to green colour schemes, there are so many options in the design.
Shades of Green
Symbolising nature, growth, and authenticity, green ranges from muted and calming tones, such as Sage and Cardamom, to moody and deep, like our Heritage Green and Deep Forest, it is a perfect choice for cabinets, walls, and accessories.
The clever use of colour in a kitchen design can transform your space and portray your individual style and personality.
Lighter greens are used for a fresh, bright kitchens and give you a beautiful country kitchen, whereas deeper greens, create a cool, vintage vibe.
There is a common misconception that if you have a small room, you should choose light kitchen cabinets, but dark green cabinets, and dark walls, paired with a light quartz worktop can make a real statement and can actually make the space feel larger.
